  • 8 models (9 hours) of detailed industry-leading training on Canadian Rainwater Harvesting Systems

  • License copy of CSA standard, which will be referenced in the 2020 National Building Code

  • All resources, workbook, and practice exercises needed to prepare you to take the certification

  • Rainwater Associate Exam registration fee  

  • 1 year CANARM membership (valued at $75)*

  • 100 question exam (75% required to pass) 
  • Earn Associate Certification


PART 2: Practical(Professional Certification)

  • 2 Years from Completion of Part 1 to submit

  • Submit either 3 designs or 3 installation reports depending on the certification you are obtaining.

Module 1 - Introduction to Rainwater Harvesting.

Basic overview of rainwater harvesting in a residential setting. This module discuss the major components of a typical rainwater harvesting system.

Module 2 - System Componets

D-01 System Components

This module covers a plethora of aspects pertaining to all rainwater systems, from Catchment through Conveyance to Storage and then Treatment and Distribution.

Module 3 - Design And Installation

D-02 Design and Installation

With every rainwater harvesting system being unique, understanding the design and installation aspects is essential. This module outlines the important system sizing, location and installation aspects for above- and below-ground RWH storage systems and various demand uses.

Module 4 - Water Quality

D-03 Water Quality

Rainwater is non-potable, and dealing with it requires special considerations: The CSA B805-18 Water Safety Plan and an understanding of rainwater treatment for specific end uses is covered.  With proper education you can learn how to make rainwater potable in a safe way.

D - 04 Rules and Regulations

Governance of water, and regulations, guidelines and bylaws, play a large part in RWH design and implementation. While each municipality may have a different format and regulation, this module gives an overview of what to look for and know.

Module 6 - Detailed Design

D - 05 Detailed Design

This module explores a number of case studies from various design offices and installers. They range in scale from single-family detached housing to an international airport, and demand uses include storm water management, irrigation, flushing, potable, and industrial uses.

The CSA B805-18 Rainwater Standard focuses on the documentation of the design, installation and management of the RWH system. This module provides a detailed look at this aspect, from start to finish, documenting the process and ongoing management with forms and checklists.
